Post Oak

The trailz at the Post Oak Lodge are fairly new, and the potential for more trailz is huge. The POST OAK LODGE CHALLENGE, (50K/25K/10K trail runs on Saturday, followed by road runs of marathon, 1/2, 1/4 marathons on Sunday) is held in late February every year have been instrumental for the trail development here. This huge plot of land adjoining the Botanical Gardens is seated in the Osages northwest of Downtown Tulsa. (There is another trail site that lists a Post Oak trail in Sapulpa. This is not that trail.) Much of the trailz here are double track, and if you don't mind a bit of climbing, you can enjoy the view from the highest point in the three-county area.

A fantastic view is awarded the runner who ascends the steep Holmes Peak!

Need some hill work? The road to the Botanical Gardens is 1.5 miles, and doing an out-and-back gets you six good climbs.

Post Oak Lodge is a private resort and hosts many weddings,seminars, and private parties. Trail runners need to coordinate with the Post Oak run committee to attend monthly training runs. The Botanical Gardens opens in the spring, and you can roam the adjacent trails during their business hours. Be sure to have your car out before they close and lock the gate!! It is advisable to check in at the Botanical gardens office before embarking on your miles. (Parking OUTSIDE the gate and running the hilly gravel road to the Botanical Gardens does not require a permit.)
